Welcome to Global Gold & Silver. This guide is intended as a service to the general public and explains everything you need to know about consigning your estate jewelry, antique jewelry and diamond jewelry.
On average we receive 10 to 20 calls/emails per day from people just like you looking to consign jewelry. So as a service to anyone looking to sell we have created this page. If you still have questions after reading this page please don’t hesitate to call or email us.
"Consignment Shop" as defined by Wikipedia: "Consignment shop" In the context of sale, it is usually understood that the consignee (the seller) pays the consignor (the person who owns the item) a portion of the proceeds from the sale. Payment is not made until and unless the item actually sells. The consignor retains title to the item at all times, and can end the arrangement at any time by requesting return of the item. A specified period of time is commonly arranged, after which time if the item does not sell the owner can reclaim the item (or, if not reclaimed within a period of time, the seller can dispose of the item at his discretion).

Consignment Sale With A Reputable Jeweler
The safest and easiest way to get the highest return for your jewelry is to place it on consignment with a reputable jeweler. Since jewelers work with other jewelers in the trade as well as their own private clientele they have a much better chance of selling your jewelry for you. Typical consignment ranges from a 50/50 split to 70/30 when the jewelry sells. At Global Gold & Silver we offer a 90/10 split with you receiving 90% of the proceeds and we handle any expenditures such as ad costs etc. Most of our customers prefer this approach because they don’t have to worry about things like security and negotiating with potential buyers.
